Commis II – Kitchen Team Member

About the role

The Commis II joins the culinary team at Fairmont Bab Al Bahr, a five‑star beachfront hotel in Abu Dhabi. You will assist in preparing, cooking, and presenting high‑quality dishes while upholding the hotel’s luxury standards and strict hygiene protocols.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook food according to standard recipes and presentation guidelines.
• Assist the Chef de Partie with daily operations of the assigned kitchen section.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, equipment, and storage areas.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards at all times.
• Store, label, and rotate food items using the FIFO method.
• Support mise en place and ensure all ingredients are ready before service.
• Monitor food quality and report any concerns to the Chef de Partie.
• Minimise food waste and use ingredients efficiently.
• Assist with inventory reporting and stock control.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure smooth kitchen operations.

Required profile

• Minimum 12 months of experience in a professional kitchen environment.
• Ability to follow recipes, hygiene standards, and HACCP procedures.
• Willingness to work in a fast‑paced, on‑site kitchen setting.
