Commis III Intern – Culinary Trainee

About the role

The Commis III Intern position offers an entry‑level culinary traineeship within a luxury hotel environment. Working under the guidance of senior chefs, the intern will gain hands‑on experience in food preparation, kitchen operations, and hygiene standards while supporting the daily service of the kitchen.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with basic food‑preparation tasks such as washing, peeling, cutting, weighing, portioning, labeling and storing ingredients.
• Support mise en place and prepare the assigned kitchen section before service.
• Help with basic cooking, plating, garnishing and food‑production duties when trained and authorised.
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe workstation; clean and sanitize workstations, utensils, equipment and preparation areas.
• Follow food‑safety, hygiene, sanitation, health and workplace‑safety procedures.
• Assist with checking, labeling, storing and rotating ingredients correctly.
• Support the culinary team during regular service, private functions, events and special occasions.
• Report damaged equipment, food‑quality concerns, shortages, hazards or operational issues to the supervisor.
• Help receive, organise and store kitchen supplies when required and minimise food waste.

• Entry‑level culinary trainee eager to learn and develop foundational kitchen skills.
• Ability to follow recipes, preparation instructions, portion standards and presentation guidelines.
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene, sanitation and workplace safety.
• Willingness to work collaboratively with the culinary, food‑and‑beverage and service teams.
