Commis (Kitchen Assistant) – Full‑Time

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Commis to join the kitchen team at Aloft Hotels in Dubai. The role involves supporting chefs in preparing high‑quality dishes in a fast‑paced hotel environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients by portioning, chopping, washing and peeling fruits and vegetables.
• Measure, weigh and mix ingredients according to recipes and quality standards.
• Cook and assemble hot and cold dishes, ensuring proper presentation and portion sizes.
• Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers safely.
• Monitor food quality, test doneness and maintain temperature controls.
• Set up and break down work stations, clean and disinfect kitchen areas and tools.
• Follow health, safety and company policies, reporting any hazards or incidents.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of experience in a food‑service or hotel kitchen.
• Ability to stand, walk and lift up to 25 lb throughout the shift.
• Professional appearance and good communication skills.
