Commissioning Director – Hyperscale Data Centers

About the role

Clear is looking for a Commissioning Director for a senior leadership position in Dubai, with relocation required. The role drives Levels 1-6 commissioning activities, manages client relationships and oversees multidisciplinary teams throughout the commissioning lifecycle, playing a key part in delivering large-scale data center developments while ensuring operational excellence, safety and quality.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the commissioning strategy and execution across multiple hyperscale data center projects.
• Oversee Levels 1-6 commissioning from design review through to final handover and client acceptance.
• Manage and coordinate commissioning teams, contractors, consultants and key project stakeholders.
• Ensure mechanical, electrical and integrated systems are tested, verified and commissioned to project requirements.
• Develop commissioning programmes, procedures and reporting frameworks.
• Drive quality assurance and compliance throughout all commissioning phases.
• Support project teams during design, construction, commissioning and operational readiness stages.
• Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies to meet programme milestones.
• Maintain strong client relationships and give regular progress updates to senior stakeholders.
• Ensure all commissioning follows health, safety and industry best practices.

Required profile

• Proven experience in data center commissioning environments.
• Strong MEP background with an electrical or mechanical bias.
• Previous experience with a General Contractor or Commissioning Consultancy.
• At least 3 years of hyperscale data center commissioning experience.
• Demonstrated ability to lead commissioning teams on complex mission-critical projects.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills; able to work in a fast-paced project environment.
