Competent Person Electrical Engineer – Transmission Lines (UAE)

About the role

We are seeking a Competent Person (CP) Electrical Engineer with extensive experience in transmission line projects in the UAE. The role involves overseeing safe and compliant execution of all transmission line activities on site.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the CP for transmission line construction, installation, erection, testing and related works.
• Supervise and monitor site activities ensuring they follow approved drawings, method statements and specifications.
• Conduct inspections, identify hazards, and enforce UAE regulations, client standards and HSE requirements.
• Review and verify work permits, risk assessments, method statements and job safety requirements.
• Coordinate with construction, engineering, QA/QC, HSE and client teams to resolve technical and site issues.
• Monitor lifting, excavation, tower erection, stringing, conductor installation and other line activities.
• Provide toolbox talks, technical and safety guidance to site personnel.
• Report incidents, near‑misses and non‑conformities and support corrective actions.

Required profile

• BE/BTech/Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years experience in transmission line projects.
• Valid ADNOC or TAQA CP approval – mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of transmission line construction and HSE practices.
• Experience on UAE/GCC projects preferred.
• Effective communication and coordination with contractors, consultants and client representatives.
