Compliance Manager – AML (UAE National)

About the role

The role is responsible for overseeing the bank's anti‑money‑laundering (AML) and counter‑terrorist financing (CTF) compliance program, providing guidance to staff and ensuring regulatory expectations are met.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain ongoing awareness of internal and external AML/CTF requirements and advise business units.
• Lead complex, intelligence‑driven investigations across multiple geographies and financial‑crime typologies.
• Manage the AML unit team, including training, productivity monitoring and resource allocation.
• Implement AML monitoring procedures, introduce scenarios and ensure coverage of all customer segments and products.
• Act as focal point for regulatory inspections, facilitate examinations and ensure timely implementation of recommendations.
• Maintain the AML and customer‑screening system, keep false‑positive alerts at reasonable levels and conduct periodic compliance monitoring.

Required profile

• Graduate with 10‑12 years of banking experience, at least 5 years in AML compliance.
• Strong people‑management skills with the ability to lead and motivate a dynamic team.
• Excellent spoken and written English and solid presentation abilities.

Required skills

• ACAMS certification or other recognized AML certification.
• In‑depth knowledge of UAE AML/CFT legislation and international best practices.
• Proficiency with AML monitoring tools, MS Excel and Business Objects reporting.
