Compliance Officer

About the role

Hubpay is seeking a senior Compliance Officer to lead and scale its compliance programme across both business and retail products. Reporting to the Vice President of Risk, you will own the firm’s compliance arrangements, regulatory relationships and risk‑based monitoring in a fast‑growing fintech environment.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the designated Compliance Officer, overseeing compliance effectiveness for all products.
• Maintain relationships with ADGM and the FSRA, handling regulatory reporting and ongoing engagement.
• Develop and update the compliance risk assessment and translate it into priority actions.
• Design and run a risk‑based compliance monitoring programme, ensuring findings are closed.
• Manage the company policy suite, regulatory change process, and compliance breach register.
• Oversee regulatory returns, conduct of business, complaints handling and systemic issue analysis.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, operations and commercial teams to embed compliance in product development.
• Lead regulatory audits, prepare for inspections and deliver compliance training across the organisation.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years in a regulatory compliance function at a regulated financial services firm.
• Prior designation as Compliance Officer or Approved/Recognised Person with a regulator.
• Strong knowledge of the UAE regulatory environment and experience engaging with FSRA, DFSA or CBUAE.
• Proven ability to build and maintain a compliance risk assessment and monitoring framework in high‑growth companies.
• Understanding of client money, cross‑border payments and conduct risk in fintech.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally and balance commercial goals with regulatory obligations.
