Computing Lab Instructor

About the role

The Department of Electrical Engineering and Computing Sciences at RIT Dubai is seeking a Computing Lab Instructor to lead and support its computing and digital transformation laboratories. The successful candidate will teach lab sessions, maintain equipment, and develop training programs for students and professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with hardware and software vendors to equip labs according to curriculum and operational KPIs.
• Manage the digital transformation lab and design training programs for students and external professionals.
• Teach laboratory components of information technology, computing security, and digital transformation courses.
• Develop, assemble, disassemble, and support experiments and demonstrations for labs and research activities.
• Perform regular inventory checks, process equipment orders, and maintain lab hardware and software.
• Coordinate with faculty to identify new technology needs and update existing lab resources.
• Execute scheduled maintenance of computing equipment and work with the IT department on instructional systems.
• Support student extracurricular and club activities related to computing.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a closely related field.
• Proven teaching experience in IT, networking or computing security labs.
• Experience with cloud management, orchestration and operation of public and private cloud infrastructures.
• Industry certifications and strong communication skills.
