Construction Engineer – Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I)

About the role

Penspen is seeking an experienced Construction Engineer specialised in Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) for an offshore PMC project in Abu Dhabi. The role covers the full project life‑cycle from fabrication through to commissioning and handover.

Key responsibilities

• Support offshore oil & gas projects during fabrication, installation, hook‑up, testing, pre‑commissioning and commissioning phases.
• Review and verify E&I construction drawings, wiring diagrams, cable schedules, loop diagrams and installation details.
• Develop and review work packs, method statements, installation procedures and execution plans.
• Coordinate E&I activities on the fabrication yard, offshore installation and commissioning sites.
• Monitor progress, identify schedule risks and implement mitigation actions.
• Ensure compliance with approved engineering documents, project specifications and international standards.
• Oversee cable tray, conduit, cable pulling, glanding, termination and testing activities.
• Support energisation, system handover and participate in commissioning walk‑downs and punch‑list close‑out.
• Interface with engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, operations and client teams.
• Prepare technical, progress and construction status reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Instrumentation or Electronics Engineering from an accredited university.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, with at least 5 years in offshore E&I construction.
• Proven experience in PMC/EPC environments; ADNOC offshore experience is an advantage.
