Construction Equipment Technician

About the role

Al Futtaim Automotive’s FAMCO Construction Equipment team in the UAE is seeking a skilled Technician to deliver high‑quality service, maintenance and repair for heavy machinery. The role combines workshop tasks with field visits, focusing on minimizing downtime and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Remove, install, disassemble and re‑assemble components such as engines, transmissions and axles.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting, diagnostics and inspections to identify faults and implement effective repairs.
• Conduct machine inspections and customer visits to support service quality and generate additional revenue.
• Maintain accurate documentation (job cards, service reports, timesheets) in line with ISO standards.
• Guide junior technicians through knowledge sharing and teamwork.

Required profile

• Technical Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical, Electrical or Automotive Engineering.
• 2–5 years of hands‑on experience servicing heavy machinery in both field and workshop settings.
• Valid driving licence and basic computer literacy for reporting.
• Willingness to work flexible hours as operational demands require.

Required skills

• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities.
• Hands‑on expertise with mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Ability to read service manuals, schematics and technical drawings.
