Construction Manager - Civil Works

About the role

The Construction Manager oversees the planning, execution and completion of civil engineering projects, covering site development, structural work and infrastructure. The manager ensures projects finish on time, within budget and to the highest quality and safety standards, coordinating with project managers, engineers and subcontractors.

Key responsibilities

• Develop construction plans, schedules, budgets and resource allocations, and coordinate site development such as excavation, foundations and structural elements
• Lead and supervise the civil team, including engineers, technicians and subcontractors, and provide guidance and training
• Oversee civil works such as earthworks, concrete pours, structural steel erection and infrastructure installation, and conduct regular site inspections
• Manage the budget, review and approve invoices and change orders, and monitor costs
• Enforce safety procedures, hold safety briefings and ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations
• Maintain records of progress, inspections and quality documentation, and report on project status and issues
• Resolve conflicts and quality issues, and ensure corrective actions are taken

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field; professional certification or advanced degree preferred
• Minimum 8-12 years of experience in civil construction management, with a track record of large-scale civil projects
• Preferred: experience with large-scale infrastructure, commercial or residential projects in the UAE or GCC, familiarity with UAE construction regulations, and proven ability to manage diverse teams
