Construction Manager – Spherical Storage Tanks

About the role

We are seeking a field‑proven Construction Manager to lead the erection, assembly, and mechanical completion of spherical storage tanks (Hortonspheres) in the UAE. This pure site‑execution role requires hands‑on leadership of heavy‑lift operations, rigging, fit‑up crews, and specialized welders.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and supervise heavy lift crane schedules, including heavy crawler cranes, for erecting structural legs, central derrick towers, and thick‑plate shell sections.
• Direct fit‑up and alignment of high‑thickness steel plates to ensure flawless joints before welding.
• Manage welding workforce productivity, ensuring continuous pre‑heating and safe welding of thick plates.
• Oversee scaffolding and rope‑access systems for safe high‑altitude work.
• Coordinate on‑site post‑weld heat treatment (PWHT) logistics, including burners, fuel lines, and insulation.
• Drive subcontractor performance, resolve labor bottlenecks, and maintain material staging to meet daily schedule targets.

Required profile

• 12+ years of heavy mechanical site construction experience.
• Lead CM on at least two completed spherical storage tank projects.
• Proven experience managing thick‑plate steel fabrication and on‑site PWHT.
• Strong leadership in harsh site conditions and tight deadlines.
