Consultant - Anaesthesia

About the role

The Consultant – Anaesthesia will lead the delivery of safe and high‑quality anesthesia services at Bareen International Hospital. Working closely with operating theatre staff, physicians and department directors, you will ensure optimal patient care before, during and after surgical procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain anesthesia protocols and best practices.
• Monitor patients throughout the peri‑operative period, managing airway, life‑support and any adverse reactions.
• Administer anesthetic agents using local, intravenous, spinal, epidural, caudal or regional techniques, including ultrasound‑guided nerve blocks.
• Coordinate with surgeons to synchronize anesthetic administration and ensure smooth workflow in the operating suite.
• Oversee staffing, equipment, and quality‑control programs to meet regulatory and hospital standards.
• Provide education and guidance to anesthesia technicians, nurses, students and other healthcare professionals.

Required profile

• Board‑certified anesthesiologist with active privileges renewable every two years.
• Extensive experience in both adult and obstetric anesthesia, including painless labour (epidural analgesia).
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage departmental resources.
