Consultant Brain Injury Medicine – Western Qualified

About the role

The Government hospital in the UAE seeks a highly experienced Consultant in Brain Injury Medicine who holds a Western qualification. You will join a leading neuroscience and rehabilitation centre, delivering comprehensive assessment, treatment and rehabilitation for patients with traumatic and acquired brain injuries.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct thorough clinical assessments and develop individualized rehabilitation plans.
• Provide multidisciplinary care alongside physiotherapists, occupational therapists, neuropsychologists and other specialists.
• Manage acute, post‑acute and long‑term rehabilitation phases, focusing on functional independence.
• Oversee spasticity treatment, cognitive disorder management and neuro‑rehabilitation protocols.
• Participate in case conferences, research activities and continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MBBS/MD or equivalent) with Western Board Certification in Brain Injury Medicine, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Neurology or a related specialty.
• Minimum 5 years post‑board experience as a Consultant in Brain Injury Medicine or Neurorehabilitation.
• Eligibility for DHA, DOH or MOH Consultant licence.
• Proven experience in a JCI‑accredited or specialised rehabilitation centre.
• Strong clinical leadership, communication and teamwork abilities.
