Consultant Cardiac Anesthesiologist – Dubai

About the role

We are looking for a highly experienced Consultant Cardiac Anesthesiologist to join our leading healthcare team in Dubai. The role involves delivering specialised anaesthesia care for adult and paediatric cardiac surgeries, interventional cardiology procedures and other complex cardiovascular interventions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive anaesthesia services for cardiac, thoracic and major vascular surgeries.
• Conduct pre‑anaesthetic evaluations, risk assessments and optimisation of medical conditions.
• Administer general anaesthesia for procedures such as CABG, valve surgery, congenital heart repairs, heart transplantation and aortic surgery.
• Support interventional cardiology and structural heart procedures including TAVI/TAVR, MitraClip, electrophysiology and cardiac catheterisation.
• Perform and interpret intra‑operative Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE) for surgical decision‑making.
• Manage advanced invasive haemodynamic monitoring (arterial lines, central venous catheters, pulmonary artery catheters, cardiac output monitoring).
• Provide peri‑operative critical care in collaboration with intensivists and cardiac surgeons.
• Respond to cardiac emergencies, resuscitation, cardiogenic shock and peri‑operative complications.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and mentor junior staff.

Required profile

• Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent) and recognised residency in Anaesthesiology.
• Fellowship or advanced training in Cardiac Anaesthesia.
• Board certification in Anaesthesiology.
• Certification in peri‑operative Transesophageal Echocardiography (highly preferred).
• DHA eligibility letter, DHA licence or eligibility for consultant licensure in Dubai.
• Minimum 8–10 years post‑specialisation experience in cardiac anaesthesia.

Required skills

• Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE) performance and interpretation.
• Invasive haemodynamic monitoring (arterial line, central venous catheter, pulmonary artery catheter, cardiac output monitoring).
• Peri‑operative management of complex cardiac surgeries.
• Critical care management of cardiac surgical patients.
• Emergency cardiac resuscitation and shock management.
