Consultant Critical Care Physician – Abu Dhabi

About the role

A leading internationally accredited healthcare provider in the UAE is expanding its high‑acuity ICU and multidisciplinary critical care services. The organisation seeks an experienced Consultant Critical Care Physician to join a modern, quality‑driven environment serving a diverse international patient population.

Key responsibilities

• Lead management of critically ill medical, surgical, trauma and postoperative patients in the ICU.
• Provide advanced organ support including mechanical ventilation, haemodynamic management, renal support coordination and sepsis care.
• Perform critical care procedures such as airway management, central venous access and invasive monitoring.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary rounds with consultants, nurses, respiratory therapists, pharmacy and allied health teams.
• Guide family communication, goals‑of‑care discussions and ethical decision‑making.
• Support ICU protocols, infection prevention, audit, simulation training and quality improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Internationally recognised specialist qualification (e.g., American Board in Critical Care, UK CCT/FFICM/MRCP/FRCA, European Diploma in Intensive Care Medicine, Canadian Royal College, Australian CICM Fellowship, Arab Board, DM/DNB/FCPS or equivalent).
• Eligibility for UAE medical licensing and facility credentialing.
• Proven experience in a high‑acuity ICU setting.
