Consultant Gastrointestinal & Endocrine Surgeon - Western Qualification

About the role

A leading private hospital in the United Arab Emirates is seeking an experienced Consultant Gastrointestinal & Endocrine Surgeon. The role involves delivering comprehensive surgical care for complex gastrointestinal and endocrine conditions, using both open and minimally invasive techniques.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and manage patients with complex GI and endocrine surgical conditions.
• Perform elective and emergency surgeries on the stomach, oesophagus, small bowel, colon, rectum, liver, gallbladder, pancreas, thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal glands.
• Utilise open, laparoscopic and other minimally invasive procedures where trained.
• Provide pre‑operative, operative and post‑operative care, including interpretation of imaging, endoscopy and pathology.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, clinical audits and teaching activities.

Required profile

• Medical degree with a recognised Western postgraduate qualification (e.g., UK CCT/CCST, US Board, German Facharzt, etc.).
• Consultant‑level experience in gastrointestinal and endocrine surgery, preferably in a tertiary or leading private hospital.
• Strong background in complex GI surgery and endocrine procedures, with fellowship or advanced training considered an advantage.
