Consultant in Intensive Care Medicine – Dubai (American Board)

About the role

A leading hospital in Dubai is seeking an experienced Consultant in Intensive Care Medicine. The role involves managing critically ill patients with complex medical and surgical conditions and working closely with multidisciplinary teams across the facility. The successful candidate will help advance ICU protocols, patient safety and clinical excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive assessment and management of critically ill patients in the ICU.
• Lead diagnosis and treatment of acute, life‑threatening conditions, including advanced airway management and mechanical ventilation.
• Oversee vasopressor therapy, renal replacement therapy and other organ‑support modalities.
• Coordinate care with emergency medicine, surgery, cardiology, neurology, anesthesia and other specialties.
• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, clinical audits, teaching, research and quality‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Medical degree with recognized postgraduate qualification in Intensive Care Medicine, Critical Care, Anesthesiology or Internal Medicine.
• American Board certification and a recognized Western qualification.
• Proven consultant‑level experience in a tertiary hospital or advanced ICU setting.
• Strong clinical judgment, leadership and emergency decision‑making skills.
• Excellent communication and ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
