Consultant Pediatric Cardiac Intensivist

About the role

A leading tertiary‑care hospital in Dubai is seeking an experienced Consultant Pediatric Cardiac Intensivist to lead its Pediatric Cardiac ICU (PCICU). The role involves delivering expert critical‑care management for neonates, infants and children with congenital and acquired heart disease, both pre‑ and post‑operatively.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive critical‑care management for pediatric cardiac patients, including pre‑operative stabilization, post‑operative care, and support for interventional cardiology cases.
• Manage heart failure, arrhythmias, cardiomyopathies, ECMO, mechanical ventilation and advanced hemodynamic monitoring.
• Lead daily PCICU rounds, coordinate multidisciplinary care plans and provide on‑call coverage for cardiac emergencies.
• Interpret and act on complex diagnostic data such as echocardiography, hemodynamic studies and advanced imaging.
• Contribute to strategic development, clinical pathways, protocols and quality‑improvement initiatives for the PCICU.
• Mentor junior physicians, fellows and critical‑care nursing staff, and engage families with clear, compassionate communication.
• Participate in clinical research, teaching, and represent the department at conferences.

Required profile

• Medical Degree (MD/MBBS) from a recognized institution.
• Board certification in Pediatric Critical Care, Pediatric Cardiology or Pediatric Anesthesiology with fellowship training in Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care.
• Minimum 8–10 years of post‑specialisation experience, including consultant‑level practice in a high‑volume cardiac centre.
• Eligibility for Dubai Health Authority (DHA) Consultant licensure.
• Strong leadership, communication and multidisciplinary collaboration skills.
• Fluency in English; Arabic is an advantage.
