Consultant Pediatric Cardiac Intensivist (PCICU) – Dubai

About the role

A leading tertiary‑care hospital in Dubai is seeking an experienced Consultant Pediatric Cardiac Intensivist to lead its Pediatric Cardiac ICU (PCICU). The role involves delivering expert critical‑care management for neonates, infants and children with congenital and acquired heart disease, both before and after cardiac surgery or interventional procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive critical‑care management for pediatric cardiac patients, including pre‑operative stabilization, post‑operative care, and support for interventional cardiology cases.
• Manage heart failure, arrhythmias, cardiomyopathies, ECMO, mechanical ventilation and advanced hemodynamic monitoring.
• Lead daily PCICU rounds, coordinate multidisciplinary care plans and ensure on‑call coverage for emergencies.
• Interpret echocardiography, hemodynamic studies and advanced imaging to guide treatment decisions.
• Contribute to strategic development, clinical pathways, quality‑improvement initiatives and program expansion.
• Mentor junior physicians, fellows and critical‑care nursing staff.
• Communicate complex clinical information compassionately to families and support long‑term care planning.
• Participate in research, teaching, audits and represent the department at conferences.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MD/MBBS) from a recognized institution.
• Board certification in Pediatric Critical Care, Pediatric Cardiology or Pediatric Anesthesiology with fellowship training in Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care.
• 8–10 years of post‑specialisation experience in a high‑volume cardiac centre, including consultant‑level practice.
• Eligibility for Dubai Health Authority (DHA) Consultant licensure.
• Fluency in English; Arabic is an advantage.
