Consultant Pediatric Dermatology

About the role

The Consultant Pediatric Dermatology will provide expert diagnosis and management of skin, hair and nail disorders for infants, children and adolescents within SEHA’s Abu Dhabi hospitals. The role focuses on delivering safe, high-quality, patient-centred care in line with DOH and SEHA standards.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose and treat a broad spectrum of pediatric dermatologic conditions, including atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, hemangiomas, vascular malformations, genetic skin disorders, infections, acne and birthmarks.
• Perform skin biopsies and minor dermatological procedures appropriate for children.
• Provide laser therapy and other advanced treatments when indicated.
• Collaborate with pediatricians, allergists, immunologists, geneticists and other specialists to develop multidisciplinary care plans.
• Educate patients and families on disease management, skincare routines and treatment protocols.
• Document all consultations, procedures and follow‑up care in the electronic medical record system.
• Lead pediatric dermatology clinics, supervise residents and junior staff, and contribute to teaching programmes.
• Participate in clinical audits, research projects and quality‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) and completed residency in Dermatology.
• Sub‑specialty fellowship training in Pediatric Dermatology.
• Board certification in Dermatology and a valid DOH Consultant License in Dermatology (or eligibility).
• Minimum five years post‑board experience in Dermatology, with at least two years dedicated to pediatric practice.
• Proven experience managing complex and rare pediatric skin disorders in a tertiary‑care setting.
