Consultant Pediatric Nephrologist

About the role

We are seeking a highly qualified and compassionate Consultant Pediatric Nephrologist to join a leading hospital in Dubai. The role involves diagnosing, treating, and managing kidney and urinary tract disorders in infants, children, and adolescents while working within a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage a broad spectrum of pediatric kidney disorders, including CAKUT, nephrotic and nephritic syndromes, AKI, CKD, hypertension, electrolyte and tubular disorders, glomerular and hereditary renal diseases.
• Oversee pediatric dialysis programs (peritoneal and hemodialysis) and assess children requiring renal replacement therapy.
• Coordinate renal transplant evaluations and provide comprehensive post‑transplant follow‑up care.
• Interpret renal imaging, kidney biopsy findings, and specialized laboratory investigations.
• Collaborate closely with pediatric urologists, intensivists, endocrinologists, radiologists, transplant teams and other specialists.
• Educate and counsel patients and families on disease management, nutrition, medications and long‑term follow‑up.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with hospital standards.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, teaching and research activities.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
• Specialty training in Pediatrics with fellowship or board certification in Pediatric Nephrology.
• Western‑trained education and/or clinical experience (UK, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand or equivalent) – mandatory.
• Board certification in Pediatric Nephrology (American Board, Royal College or equivalent).
• Minimum 5 years of post‑specialisation experience as a Consultant Pediatric Nephrologist.
