Consultant Physician – Endocrinology

About the role

The Consultant Physician in Endocrinology leads the delivery of high‑quality, evidence‑based care for patients with endocrine disorders at Al Rahba Hospital. This senior clinical position combines patient management, mentorship of junior staff, and participation in departmental initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose, treat and manage endocrine patients according to best‑practice standards.
• Supervise and mentor junior medical staff, ensuring safe and effective patient care.
• Lead ward rounds, review inpatient and outpatient cases, and adjust treatment plans as needed.
• Document clinical information accurately and promptly.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and coordinate care with other specialties.
• Provide on‑call coverage on a rotational basis, including evenings, nights, weekends and public holidays.
• Support departmental performance management, peer review and utilization review processes.
• Assist the Division Chief with scheduling, recruitment and administrative duties.

Required profile

• Medical degree with specialist qualification in Endocrinology.
• Board certification or equivalent recognition in the specialty.
• Proven experience in a senior clinical role, preferably within a hospital setting.
• Strong leadership and teaching abilities for junior staff development.
• Commitment to clinical excellence, patient safety and continuous improvement.
