Consultant Specialist General Surgeon – UAE

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Consultant Specialist General Surgeon to join a leading healthcare facility in Dubai. The role involves delivering high‑quality surgical care across a broad range of general surgical specialties.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct detailed surgical consultations and examinations.
• Diagnose, plan, and perform elective and emergency general surgical procedures.
• Manage pre‑operative, intra‑operative, and post‑operative patient care.
• Perform surgeries of the gastrointestinal tract, hepatobiliary system, breast, thyroid, soft tissues, and hernias.
• Maintain accurate surgical documentation, operative notes, and patient records.
• Collaborate with anesthesiologists, radiologists, oncologists, pathologists and other specialists.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, tumor boards and case discussions.
• Provide patient and family education on procedures, risks and post‑operative care.
• Handle surgical complications and coordinate follow‑up care.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, UAE medical regulations and best practices.
• Engage in continuous professional development, clinical audits, research and teaching.

Required profile

• MBBS, MD or equivalent recognized medical qualification.
• Post‑graduate qualification or board certification in General Surgery.
• Significant clinical experience in general surgical practice.
• Proven ability to perform a wide range of elective and emergency procedures.
• Strong clinical judgment and decision‑making skills.
• Excellent knowledge of peri‑operative patient management.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
• Commitment to patient‑centered care and professional ethics.
