Consultant Specialist – General Surgery (UK CCT)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Consultant/Specialist General Surgeon to join a leading healthcare facility in Dubai, UAE. The role involves delivering comprehensive surgical care across elective and emergency settings, with a focus on high‑quality patient outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and manage patients requiring surgical intervention.
• Perform elective and emergency general surgical procedures, including gastrointestinal, abdominal, hernia, gallbladder, appendix and soft‑tissue operations.
• Conduct pre‑operative assessments, develop surgical plans and provide post‑operative care.
• Perform laparoscopic/minimally invasive procedures where trained.
• Participate in on‑call emergency services and multidisciplinary meetings.
• Maintain accurate medical records and contribute to clinical governance and teaching activities.

Required profile

• MBBS/MD or equivalent medical degree from a recognised institution.
• Postgraduate qualification in General Surgery (UK CCT, American Board, Australian Board or South African Board preferred).
• Significant post‑specialty experience in general surgery, including elective and emergency procedures.
• Valid professional registration/license for practice in the UAE.
• Strong surgical judgment, decision‑making and teamwork abilities.
