Contracts Lead

About the role

The Contracts Lead will oversee all contract administration activities for assigned property and construction projects, ensuring that contractual obligations are met, risks are managed, and the organisation’s commercial interests are protected throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Lead contract administration from award through to completion and close‑out.
• Review, interpret and enforce contract terms, obligations and organisational requirements.
• Support the drafting, negotiation and finalisation of contracts, amendments and related documentation.
• Monitor deliverables, milestones, notices and key dates to ensure timely compliance.
• Manage contractual correspondence, claims, variations, extensions of time and other related matters.
• Assess contractor and consultant claims and provide recommendations to project and commercial leadership.
• Identify contractual risks and propose mitigation measures.
• Coordinate with Commercial, Procurement, Project, Technical, Finance and Legal teams on contractual issues.
• Provide contractual advice to project teams and lead negotiations with external parties.
• Maintain accurate records of contracts, amendments, notices, claims and decisions.
• Support dispute avoidance, resolution processes and final account negotiations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Construction Management, Law, Commercial Management or a related discipline.
• Professional accreditation such as MRICS, RICS or equivalent.
• Demonstrated experience in contract administration, negotiation and risk management within construction or property projects.
