Cost Accountant

About the role

Spinneys, the UAE’s leading premium retailer, is looking for a detail‑oriented Cost Accountant to join its finance team in Dubai. The role focuses on monitoring production costs, inventory movements and material variances to support accurate costing and operational decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and analyse standard and actual costing, producing material, labour and overhead variance reports.
• Monitor stock movements, reconcile physical inventory with SAP records and investigate wastage, shrinkage and yield variances.
• Perform month‑end and year‑end closing activities for COGS, inventory valuation and work‑in‑progress.
• Conduct periodic physical stock counts, reconcile discrepancies and prepare cost analysis reports for management.
• Maintain accurate Bills of Materials and routing data in SAP to ensure correct cost roll‑ups.
• Collaborate with production, warehouse and procurement teams to track raw material consumption and finished‑goods output.
• Support budgeting and forecasting for manufacturing costs and ensure compliance with internal controls and audit requirements.
• Identify and implement process improvements to reduce inventory losses and improve cost accuracy.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field (CMA a plus).
• 3–5 years of cost accounting experience, preferably in food manufacturing or production.
• Hands‑on experience with SAP FI/CO modules.
• Strong analytical skills, high attention to detail and ability to work cross‑functionally.
