Cost Control Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Cost Control Engineer to join our project team at Ali & Sons Marine Engineering Factory in Abu Dhabi. The role will ensure effective cost control across marine engineering projects by monitoring budgets, expenditures, forecasts and cash flow, and by supporting timely corrective actions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement cost control strategies based on project scope, client requirements and constraints.
• Analyse internal cost control procedures, report financial and operational performance, and identify variances.
• Prepare monthly and annual variance analyses, cost reports and forecasts, ensuring accurate cost booking in the Oracle system.
• Reconcile material, consumable and man‑hour consumption, highlighting overruns against approved rates.
• Review cost reports with Project and Division Managers to identify overruns and forecast variances before management submission.
• Maintain project cash‑flow forecasts, monitor revenue recognition and ensure proper cost code registration for purchase orders.

Required profile

• Proven experience in cost control or cost engineering within large engineering or construction projects.
• Strong analytical and financial control skills with ability to work closely with Project Managers, Finance, Procurement and Stores.
• Excellent understanding of budgeting, forecasting, cash‑flow management and variance analysis.
