Credit Control Manager

About the role

The Credit Control Manager is responsible for overseeing credit limits for credit facilities, ensuring accurate encoding and control of limits, and guiding the team in daily transactions. The role ensures compliance with FAB head‑office policies, international branch procedures, and UAE regulator requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Authorize, process and encode credit limits, maintaining accuracy in the bank’s systems and country limits.
• Maintain correct application of interest rates, commissions, fees and charges.
• Process obligor details for UAE and international branches in line with local regulations.
• Prepare and authorise daily transaction documents such as loan memos, processing tickets, PPC discounting/settlements and service charges.
• Conduct monthly activities including annual review of credit limits in GLCMS.
• Handle provisioning memos, customer grade changes, interest suspensions and related write‑offs.
• Issue liability certificates and letters as required.
• Provide superior internal customer service, respond to queries, escalations and deficiency reports promptly.
• Stay updated on UAE Central Bank regulations and corporate credit guidelines.
• Ensure adherence to SOPs, SLAs and Delegation of Authority.
• Support Team Leaders in workload distribution and monitor task completion.
• Prepare instruction memos for loan operations and client service teams.

Required profile

• Proven experience in credit limit management within a banking environment.
• Strong knowledge of bank systems, GLCMS and regulatory requirements of the UAE Central Bank.
• Ability to interpret and apply interest rates, commissions, fees and charges accurately.
• Excellent internal customer service orientation and communication skills.
• Capability to support team leaders in task allocation and workflow monitoring.
• Familiarity with standard operating procedures, service level agreements and delegation of authority frameworks.
