Crewing Manager

About the role

Jifmar Group, a leading maritime services provider, is seeking a Crewing Manager to oversee crew planning, recruitment, and retention across its global operations. Based in Dubai, you will ensure optimal crew deployment while maintaining compliance with maritime regulations and company standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and optimise crew schedules, ensuring regulatory compliance and operational continuity.
• Manage absences, special leave, and arrange replacements to maintain vessel staffing.
• Lead recruitment of seagoing personnel, building a talent pipeline through schools, agencies, and partnerships.
• Supervise variable payroll elements, ensure administrative compliance, and manage relationships with manning agencies.
• Prepare and monitor the crewing budget, focusing on cost efficiency.
• Identify training needs, maintain competency matrices, and support crew development and career progression.
• Implement retention strategies to reduce turnover and produce HR reports on headcount, budget, and manning usage.

Required profile

• Proven experience in crewing or maritime operations with team‑management responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of maritime regulations and labour law.
• Experience in budget management and cost optimisation.
• Fluent English with excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Highly organised, proactive, and able to manage priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
