Culinary Intern – Luxury Hotel Kitchen

About the role

The Culinary Intern will join the high‑volume kitchen of St. Regis Abu Dhabi, supporting the Chef de Partie and Sous Chef in daily food production. This role offers hands‑on experience in a luxury hotel environment while developing core culinary techniques and food‑safety practices.

Key responsibilities

• Review daily production sheets with the Chef de Partie or Sous Chef.
• Prepare and, when required, delegate the production of menu items according to standards.
• Participate in training junior talent and apprentices.
• Maintain a clean, organized workstation and follow opening/closing procedures.
• Control over‑production, minimise waste, and ensure proper rotation, labeling and storage of food.
• Operate all kitchen equipment safely and report any deficiencies.
• Ensure compliance with hotel and government food‑safety guidelines.
• Log all activities in the kitchen log book and brief team on updates.
• Monitor deliveries, manage line checks and follow cleaning schedules.

Required profile

• Strong initiative and desire to improve culinary skills.
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines and solve minor obstacles.
• Proficient written and spoken English.
• Post‑graduate education or basic apprenticeship in culinary arts.
• Minimum 1–2 years experience in a similar high‑volume, internationally recognised luxury kitchen.
