Customer Solution Engineer - Major Projects

About the role

The Customer Solution Engineer joins KONE’s early‑engagement team to provide technical expertise to the sales organisation and front‑line CSEs. The role focuses on non‑standard tender cases, ensuring KONE’s products and services are incorporated into building specifications and delivering optimal solutions for complex projects.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with sales to design technical solutions that meet customer needs, including third‑party offerings.
• Define specifications, costs, and lead times in partnership with Supply Line, installation, and project‑management teams.
• Perform non‑standard energy calculations and traffic analyses to validate feasibility.
• Coordinate specification creation, ensuring technical feasibility and compliance with customer requirements.
• Manage solution lead‑time coordination with local sourcing and supply chain.
• Verify installability of proposed solutions and incorporate installation effort into costing.
• Ensure maintainability and lifecycle support, identifying deviations from standard maintenance methods.

Required profile

• Engineering background with strong understanding of elevator, escalator and building‑service solutions.
• Experience handling non‑standard project specifications across sectors such as retail, infrastructure, residential, office or medical care.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with sales, supply, installation and global support teams.
• Analytical mindset for cost estimation, energy and traffic analysis, and feasibility assessment.
