Cyber Underwriter

About the role

AIG is seeking a Cyber Underwriter to drive profitable growth of its Financial Institutions portfolio in the GCCNA region. You will apply rigorous risk assessment, develop business opportunities, and mentor junior underwriters while working closely with sales, product, and compliance teams.

Key responsibilities

• Underwrite high‑value, complex cyber risks for financial institutions, using loss control, claims history and risk‑rating tools.
• Perform financial analysis of client companies and monitor portfolio performance, recommending adjustments to senior leadership.
• Represent the GCCNA cluster on the EMEA FI Committee and collaborate on strategy, guideline, and product development initiatives.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers and clients, supporting business development and cross‑sell opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with internal audit, regulatory requirements, and expense controls to optimise the portfolio’s profitability.

Required profile

• Proven underwriting experience in cyber or financial‑institution lines, with authority for large, complex accounts.
• Strong analytical skills, capable of interpreting financial statements and risk data.
• Ability to coach junior underwriters and contribute to thought leadership within the region.
• Excellent relationship‑building skills with brokers, clients, and internal stakeholders.
