Data Center Facility Engineer – AWS

About the role

Amazon Web Services is seeking a Data Center Facility Engineer to operate and maintain world‑class mechanical and electrical infrastructure in its Dubai data centers. You will work on a rotating shift schedule, responding to on‑call emergencies and ensuring safety and reliability of critical systems.

Key responsibilities

• Support and maintain electrical and mechanical equipment such as UPS, switchgear, circuit breakers, ATS, diesel generators, chillers, HVAC, VFDs and transformers.
• Perform facility and rack‑level troubleshooting, root‑cause analysis and corrective actions within internal SLAs.
• Conduct daily operational readings, supervise preventive‑maintenance contractors and ensure compliance with safety procedures.
• Participate in safety initiatives, remediation of risks and drive innovation to reduce operational costs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or a related technical field.
• 2+ years of data‑center engineering experience.
• Knowledge of key electrical theory and mechanical/HVAC systems.

Required skills

• Hands‑on troubleshooting of UPS, switchgear, circuit breakers, ATS, diesel generators, chillers, HVAC, VFDs and transformers.
• Ability to perform root‑cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Experience with safety compliance and supervising maintenance contractors.
