Data Engineer Intern

About the role

As a Data Engineer Intern at Bayut & Dubizzle, you will work on end‑to‑end data projects, from raw data ingestion to building data products and visualisations. You will gain hands‑on experience with both batch and real‑time pipelines in a modern cloud‑based data warehouse.

Key responsibilities

• Integrate raw data from primary and third‑party systems.
• Model data for operational and application layers in Amazon Redshift.
• Develop SQL queries and Python scripts as part of an agile team.
• Design and implement ETL workflows using Matillion.
• Create data‑driven products and dashboards in Periscope Data.
• Ensure data quality, system stability and security.
• Collaborate with product, tech, finance, and other departments to deliver data solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or a related quantitative field.
• Understanding of relational and dimensional data models.
• Familiarity with Linux command‑line operations.
• Ability to communicate technical insights to non‑technical audiences.
• Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.
