Data Scientist

About the role

To support the development of analytics, AI, and data products while building foundational capabilities within Masdar’s AI Products & Analytics Technology CoE. The position is based in Abu Dhabi and focuses on data preparation, model development and delivering insights to inform operational and strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Perform data preparation, cleaning, and exploratory analysis on structured and unstructured datasets.
• Support the development of analytical models and data pipelines across key use cases.
• Assist in implementing machine‑learning, statistical, and optimization models under senior guidance.
• Translate analytical outputs into clear visualisations, dashboards and reports using Power BI, Tableau or Matplotlib.
• Contribute to the creation and maintenance of reproducible, well‑documented codebases.
• Participate in code reviews, model reviews and knowledge‑sharing sessions.
• Engage with operations, digital and strategy teams to understand data needs and communicate findings.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering or a related field; UAE national under the National Talent programme.
• 1–3 years of experience in data science, analytics or related fields (internships included).
• Strong foundation in statistics, linear algebra and data analysis.
• Demonstrated experience working on data‑driven projects, academic or professional.
• Curiosity, eagerness to learn and ability to take direction and incorporate feedback.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• SQL.
• Pandas and NumPy libraries.
• Data visualisation tools such as Power BI, Tableau and Matplotlib.
• Basic machine‑learning concepts and frameworks.
• Understanding of data pipelines and data‑wrangling techniques.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and big‑data tools (preferred).
