Deckhand

About the role

NMDC Dredging and Marine is seeking an experienced Deckhand to support daily deck operations on multicat and support vessels. The role ensures safe and efficient execution of dredging, reclamation, and marine construction activities while maintaining high safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Execute anchoring, mooring, towing, and barge handling in coordination with vessel command.
• Assist with installation, connection, and disconnection of floating pipelines, sinker lines, riser pipes, and shore connections.
• Operate winches, manage pipeline tensioning, slack, and positioning of floating and submerged pipeline systems.
• Support dredging operations, including CSD shifting and TSHD discharge.
• Monitor deck equipment, report defects or hazards, and ensure compliance with HSE procedures.
• Handle lifting gear, pelican hooks, pontoons, and other marine equipment safely.
• Provide feedback to the Skipper or Captain on progress, equipment status, and incidents.
• Maintain a clean, organized deck environment and guide junior crew members.

Required profile

• Technical School Certificate or equivalent qualification/experience.
• Minimum 6 years of relevant deckhand experience in marine, dredging, or offshore environments.
• Ability to work with multicultural crews and follow safety protocols.
• Strong communication with supervisors and ability to identify and mitigate risks.
