Demi Chef de Partie – Pastry (Full‑Time)

About the role

The Demi Chef de Partie – Pastry will join the culinary team at Fairmont Heritage Place, supporting the Senior Chef de Partie in delivering high‑quality pastry items for à la carte and buffet services. This is a full‑time, on‑site position in a fast‑paced hotel environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide professional, friendly, and proactive guest service while collaborating with colleagues.
• Prepare pastry items consistently according to hotel recipes and standards for both à la carte and buffet menus.
• Participate in daily shift briefings, sharing ideas and feedback.
• Maintain clear communication with outlet chefs regarding guest feedback.
• Conduct daily checks of mise en place to ensure freshness, quality, and proper product rotation.
• Maintain cleanliness and proper maintenance of work areas, utensils, and equipment.
• Adhere to kitchen policies, safety, and sanitation standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned by senior kitchen staff.

Required profile

• Previous experience in the culinary field.
• Journeyman’s papers or international equivalent.
• Diploma or certification in a culinary discipline (preferred).
• Strong interpersonal, problem‑solving, and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, lift up to 30 lb, and perform occasional kneeling or ladder work.

Required skills

• Computer literacy in Microsoft Windows applications.
