Design Engineer II

About the role

The Engineering Technical Services department of Emirates Engineering seeks a Design Engineer II to develop, check and approve design and substantiation data for aircraft modifications and repairs. The role supports compliance with regulatory requirements, the Emirates Design Organisation Handbook and ensures safety and reliability of the fleet.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in design engineering activities and verify them against Emirates Design Organisation approvals.
• Prepare and review classification of changes to type certificates and repair designs.
• Develop and check compliance inspections, certification test plans and related documentation.
• Provide on‑site support during implementation of design changes or repairs.
• Compile and update compliance checklists and support technical services personnel on design changes.
• Assist the Chief of Airworthiness with handbook updates, design data archiving, contractor monitoring and regulatory audits.
• Liaise with external vendors, MROs, regulatory authorities and internal stakeholders to deliver engineering solutions.
• Interpret OEM data (aircraft manuals, IPC, AMM, SRM, WDM, ESPM) for Airbus and Boeing platforms.
• Ensure compliance with CS‑25 and other certification basis requirements, particularly for structural substantiations, weight‑and‑balance analysis and engineering drawings.

Required profile

• Experience in aircraft design engineering for modifications and repairs.
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as CS‑25, GCAA/EASA and type‑certificate processes.
• Ability to work with Airbus and Boeing technical documentation.
• Strong collaboration skills with vendors, MROs and regulatory bodies.
