Design Manager

About the role

The Design Manager will lead and coordinate the design development of assigned projects, ensuring quality, compliance, constructability and alignment with budget and programme from concept through construction support.

Key responsibilities

• Manage architectural and multidisciplinary design development across architecture, structure, MEP, façade, fire & life safety, vertical transportation, landscape, interior design and specialist consultants.
• Lead technical coordination, ensuring interfaces between disciplines are resolved and design packages are constructible.
• Oversee BIM coordination, clash detection and model development to produce coordinated design deliverables.
• Review and approve design submissions from concept through IFC, ensuring compliance with UAE/Dubai authority requirements and project briefs.
• Monitor consultant deliverables against programme, identify risks and drive corrective actions.
• Support value engineering, design optimisation and design‑to‑budget exercises with commercial teams.
• Provide technical support during tendering and construction, reviewing contractor submissions and resolving RFIs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering or equivalent.
• 10–15 years of professional experience, preferably with UAE developer‑side projects.
• Proven experience delivering residential, high‑rise and mixed‑use developments.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple active projects and multidisciplinary consultants.
• Strong knowledge of UAE/Dubai building regulations, authority approval processes and master‑developer requirements.
• Excellent stakeholder‑management, communication and problem‑solving skills.

Required skills

• BIM coordination and Revit modelling.
• Clash detection and design QA/QC.
• Technical coordination across architecture, structure, MEP and specialist disciplines.
• Value engineering and design optimisation.
• Preparation and review of tender, IFC and construction documentation.
• Familiarity with UAE/Dubai authority codes and NOC processes.
