Design Team Lead

About the role

The Design Team Lead will guide and manage a multidisciplinary design team on architectural and engineering projects. Reporting to the Design and Projects Director, the role ensures high‑quality design output, efficient workflows, and successful project delivery. The ideal candidate combines strong leadership, creative problem‑solving, and extensive design experience.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and support the design team to meet project objectives, timelines and quality standards.
• Oversee architectural and engineering designs from concept through detailed design stages.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders (engineering, BIM, business development) and external consultants for integrated solutions.
• Design, review and approve design outputs to ensure consistency, compliance and client satisfaction.
• Manage team schedules, resource allocation and task assignments to maintain productivity and morale.
• Support the Design Director in implementing design strategies, innovation and excellence initiatives.
• Participate in design review meetings, client presentations and workshops.
• Promote continuous development, knowledge sharing and process improvements within the team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or related field (Master’s a plus).
• Minimum 15 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Strong portfolio of delivered projects across various sectors.
• Excellent leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Deep knowledge of international building codes, local regulations and sustainable design practices.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and multidisciplinary teams simultaneously.
• Fluent English communication; Arabic is a plus.
