Design Technology Teacher - Electronics Specialist

About the role

Fortes Education is seeking a Design Technology Teacher with a specialisation in electronics to join Sunmarke School in Dubai from January 2027. The successful candidate will lead innovative, hands‑on learning experiences that blend traditional design technology with cutting‑edge electronics and sustainability projects.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess Design Technology lessons with a focus on electronics for secondary‑level students.
• Develop and integrate STEAM‑based projects, including AR/VR, artificial‑intelligence applications and hydroponic systems.
• Maintain and manage the design technology laboratory, ensuring safety and equipment readiness.
• Collaborate with colleagues to align curriculum with the National Curriculum of England, GCSE/IGCSE, A‑Levels, BTEC and IB programmes.
• Participate in school‑wide innovation initiatives and showcase student work at exhibitions.

Required profile

• Relevant degree in Design Technology, Electronics or a closely related field.
• Qualified teaching certification and proven experience teaching design technology or electronics at secondary level.
• Strong understanding of UK and international curricula (GCSE/IGCSE, A‑Levels, BTEC, IB).
• Passion for fostering creativity, problem‑solving and a growth mindset in students.
