Desktop Support Engineer – Hedge Fund, Dubai

About the role

A boutique, high-performing hedge fund based in the DIFC is seeking a hands-on Desktop Engineer for its Dubai office. The firm earns revenue from trading and investment activity, so the technology you support directly affects how the front office performs. You will be the first point of contact for a small, senior user base, combining day-to-day end-user support with hands-on infrastructure work. The role grows with the firm, which is expanding its trading team.

Key responsibilities

• Provide white-glove, day-to-day support to traders, analysts and senior staff, on site and by phone.
• Administer and support Citrix virtual desktop and application environments.
• Support Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive).
• Support Bloomberg terminals, market data feeds and trading applications, using Excel as a daily tool.
• Handle server racking, patching and basic on-premise maintenance.
• Manage desk moves, equipment setup, stationery and office facilities.
• Work with the firm's two managed service providers, coordinating incidents, changes and projects.
• Prepare for and support the office relocation, including equipment planning and installation.
• Use PowerShell scripting and automation to improve efficiency.

Required profile

• Strong technical skills; experience in financial services is highly desirable but not essential.
• Knowledge of Bloomberg and Excel is a real advantage.
• Someone ambitious, eager to grow and to build skills quickly, ideally early in their career.
