DevOps Engineering Intern

About the role

Join Sarwa’s infrastructure team as a DevOps Engineering Intern and help strengthen the cloud platform of the region’s fastest‑growing fintech. You will work directly with the DevOps Lead on real production workloads, gaining hands‑on experience with AWS, Terraform and disaster‑recovery automation.

Key responsibilities

• Audit existing Terraform state and document Sarwa’s Infrastructure‑as‑Code practices.
• Provision a sandbox AWS account, deploying VPCs, subnets and core networking via Terraform.
• Support the disaster‑recovery automation project by scripting regional failover and promotion workflows.
• Write and maintain automation scripts using boto3 for dynamic tasks not covered by IaC.
• Contribute to a code‑backed DR Playbook and keep documentation up to date.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT or a related field.
• Basic experience with Git and Linux command‑line interface.
• Understanding of the request/response cycle in web applications.
• Eagerness to learn Terraform, AWS networking and Kubernetes in a production environment.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
