Director of Compliance – Retail

About the role

Majid Al Futtaim is seeking a senior leader to head its Retail Compliance function. Reporting functionally to Holding Compliance and administratively to the Retail CEO, the Director will ensure the business meets regulatory standards and internal policies across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain a robust compliance framework aligned with local regulations and company policies.
• Coordinate with the investigations team to manage investigative cases, recommend corrective actions and improve monitoring.
• Provide strategic advice to senior management on emerging compliance risks and regulatory changes.
• Oversee compliance training, awareness programmes and reporting for all retail operations.
• Collaborate with Legal, HR, Risk and Security to ensure a consistent governance approach.
• Support the VP of Compliance in preparing reports for regulators, auditors and executive committees.
• Drive execution of all compliance activities across retail operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting, law or equivalent experience.
• Professional certifications such as CCEP‑I or Certified Fraud Examiner.
• Minimum 12 years of compliance experience, preferably in the Middle East or North Africa.
• Experience in fraud risk management and technical investigations of internal misconduct.
