Director of Compliance - Retail

About the role

The Director of Compliance – Retail will lead the compliance function for Majid Al Futtaim Retail, ensuring robust frameworks, proactive monitoring and effective investigations across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a comprehensive compliance framework aligned with regulatory requirements and company policies.
• Coordinate with the investigations team to manage cases and implement corrective actions.
• Provide strategic advice to senior management on compliance risks and emerging regulatory issues.
• Oversee compliance training, awareness programs, and reporting for all retail operations.
• Collaborate with Legal, HR, Risk, and Security teams to ensure consistent governance and ethics.
• Support the VP of Compliance in preparing reports for regulators, auditors, and executive committees.
• Drive execution of all compliance activities across retail businesses.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting with a law qualification or equivalent experience.
• Professional certifications such as CCEP‑I or Certified Fraud Examiner.
• 12+ years of compliance experience, preferably in the Middle East or North Africa.
• Experience in fraud risk management and technical investigations related to misconduct, sanctions, or human rights.
