Director of Institutional Effectiveness

About the role

The American University in the Emirates is seeking a senior leader to drive institutional planning, research, assessment and accreditation initiatives. Reporting to the President, the Director will partner with senior leadership to ensure data‑informed decision‑making and continuous improvement across academic and administrative functions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide data analysis, recommendations and reporting to support strategic planning and resource allocation.
• Develop, implement and monitor institutional effectiveness systems aligned with accreditation requirements.
• Coordinate the university’s strategic plan, track key performance indicators and ensure progress reporting.
• Lead institutional research initiatives, overseeing data collection, governance, quantitative and qualitative studies, and trend analysis.
• Support accreditation processes, quality‑assurance activities and policy development.
• Prepare professional reports, meeting minutes and institutional documentation.
• Manage a team of analysts, fostering collaboration and professional growth.

Required profile

• Master’s (preferred) or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Mathematics, Statistics or related field.
• 7‑10 years experience in institutional effectiveness, research or quality assurance within higher education.
• At least 5 years of managerial or leadership experience.
• Familiarity with accreditation standards, strategic planning and institutional assessment.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills in English; Arabic proficiency preferred.
• High professionalism, integrity and ability to handle confidential information.
