Director of Money Markets

About the role

The Bank is seeking a Director of Money Markets to lead and optimise its Money Markets function across all locations, including IBG and FI branches. The role focuses on improving net interest margin while ensuring compliance with Basel III, liquidity regulations and internal ALCO policies.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise allocation of liquid assets and short‑term borrowings bank‑wide to maximise margins and meet regulatory requirements.
• Drive UAE money‑book investment returns while maintaining sufficient liquidity for seamless operations.
• Support IBG and FI branches in excess‑liquidity management, trade booking and regulatory ratio optimisation.
• Manage centralised treasury functions for the Bahrain branch and allocate FX/MM limits to overseas branches.
• Translate board‑approved liquidity risk tolerance into policies, limits, warning indicators and escalation procedures.
• Develop and maintain the Contingency Funding Plan and annual funding plans for UAE, IBG and FI branches.
• Ensure Money Market operational procedures and benchmark rate‑setting remain aligned with Basel III and market best practices.
• Quote USD/AED and other GCC currencies for spot, forward and swaps, and manage foreign‑currency Nostro positions efficiently.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in money‑markets, treasury or liquidity risk management within a banking environment.
• Strong knowledge of Basel III liquidity regulations and ALCO frameworks.
• Proven ability to lead cross‑border treasury teams and interact with regulators.
• Excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills.
