About the role
We are looking for a Director of Technology (Emirati) to lead the technology function of a fast‑growing organization in Dubai. The role will shape the overall technology strategy, drive digital transformation, and ensure resilient, secure, and compliant IT services across the enterprise.
Key responsibilities
- Define and execute a long‑term technology roadmap covering enterprise applications, software engineering, infrastructure, cloud platforms, cybersecurity, and IT service management.
- Develop and oversee cloud adoption and hybrid‑cloud strategies aligned with security, data‑sovereignty, performance and cost objectives.
- Lead, mentor and build multidisciplinary technology teams, establishing clear ownership, succession planning and governance.
- Provide executive oversight on enterprise architecture decisions, major incidents, change governance, cybersecurity exceptions, technology investments and vendor selection.
- Set departmental objectives, KPIs and performance metrics to deliver high‑quality technology services and business outcomes.
- Drive innovation, continuous‑improvement initiatives and the adoption of RPA and AI‑enabled capabilities.
- Maintain technology governance, policies and standards in line with ISO 27001, ISO 22301, PCI DSS, UAE Information Assurance Standards and other regulatory frameworks.
- Manage strategic technology vendors and partners, coordinating with legal and procurement to ensure contract compliance and service performance.
- Prepare and manage annual technology operating and capital budgets, supporting investment decisions for strategic initiatives.
Required profile
- Proven senior leadership experience in technology strategy, enterprise architecture and large‑scale IT operations.
- Strong track record of delivering digital transformation and cloud adoption programmes.
- Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex vendor ecosystems.
- Deep understanding of regulatory compliance requirements in the UAE, including ISO standards and local information assurance rules.
- Excellent governance, budgeting and stakeholder management skills.
