Director, VASS Regional Controllership

About the role

Mastercard is seeking a senior accounting leader to oversee Value Added Services & Solutions (VASS) controllership across multiple regions. The Director will ensure consistent application of accounting policies, controls, and governance while supporting rapid business growth.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with regional VASS business leaders, FP&A, and product teams as the senior controllership advisor.
• Provide guidance on complex accounting matters such as revenue recognition, bundle and fund structures, and gross vs. net assessments.
• Engage early in new VASS product development, pricing bulletins, and scale initiatives.
• Design, implement, and monitor robust front‑ and back‑end controls for regional VASS activities.
• Ensure compliance with Mastercard accounting policies, SOX requirements, and internal governance standards.
• Identify and remediate risks related to fragmented execution and inconsistent accounting treatment.
• Act as the primary regional owner for VASS controllership inquiries and resolutions.

Required profile

• Extensive senior‑level accounting experience, preferably in a global payments or technology environment.
• Proven track record in revenue recognition, SOX compliance, and financial governance.
• Strong ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams and influence regional business leaders.
• Experience managing controllership for rapidly scaling product portfolios.
